The Military Wife
The Military Wife
author unknown
The good Lord was creating a model for military wives and was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared.
She said, "Lord, you seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one. What's the matter with the standard model?"
The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? She has to be completely independent, posses the qualities of both father and mother, be a perfect hostess to four or forty with an hour's notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, ever if she's pregnant and has the flu, and she must be willing to move 10 times in 17 years. And oh, yes, she must have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head. "Six pairs of hands? No way!"
The Lord continued, "Don't worry, we shall make other military wives to help her.
And we will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husband's achievements, sustain the pain of separations, beat soundly when it's over-worked and tired, and be large enough to say 'I understand,' when she does not, and say 'I love you,' regardless."
The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at it closely and sighed, "It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She might look soft," replied the Lord, "but she has the strength of a lion. You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation. "There's a leak," she announced. "Something is wrong with the construction. I am not surprised that it has cracked. You are trying to put too much into this model."
The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence. What you see is not a leak," he said. "It's a tear."
"A tear? What is it there for?" asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride and a dedication to all the values that she and her husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!" exclaimed the angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."

Transformers...
Let me preface this blog by saying that my son in absolutely OBSESSED with Transformers...
So I was talking to Deirdre on the phone and at the same time showing Cam her belly picture and the ultrasound of the baby. He was SO excited that Auntie Deer-dra (her name is emphasized when Cam says it...hilarious!) was having a baby and that Shaney was going to be a big brother! Here is a glimpse into our conversation...
D: Ask him what he wants me to have...
Me: Cam, do you want Auntie to have a boy or a girl?
C: Hmmmmmm (lots of thinking going on in his head)....A BOY!
D: HAHA...that's what Shaney wants too! Ask him what I should name him...
Me: Cam, what should Auntie name the baby if it's a boy?
C: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm....FALLEN!

Ballet!
Calleigh had her first ballet class tonight at Kidz Therapeze and it was amazing!! Kelly Barr the owner of Kid Therapeze has a friend who has taught classes for years and is now teaching a class for some of our kids! Calleigh learned to curtsy, she was Thumbalina and she had ladybugs crawling on her (all ballet terms!)! We were once told that Calleigh would never do these things...and look at her now!!! Kelly and the dance teacher are working on having the kiddos perform in a December performance of the Nutcracker...so I will keep you all posted!!

I'm ready...depression...
I am 29 1/2 today...only six months to 30....BLAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Sergeant First Class Morrow
Chris was promoted today to SFC (E7). He has worked very hard to attain this promotion and done it in an amazing amount of time. In the ARMY he may be referred to as a 'fast-tracker'- a.k.a over-achiever! We are so very proud of him and we truly wish we could have been there to celebrate this great accomplishment. We are counting down the days until his return...we are down to four months from today..woohoo!

9 month well baby...
Caden had his nine month well baby appointment today and the boy is in great health! He weighed in at 19lbs 7oz and 27 1/2 inches! He is officially bigger than his big sister who weighed in today at 18lbs even.
He had his series of shots to include the flu shot, which all three of my kiddos had today. Caden does have to go back in 30 days to get the other half of the shot. He is seriously growing like a weed and amazing me everyday. He crawls around EVERYWHERE, tires to climb the stairs just to keep up with Big Bubba and Sister. He is standing up on things and enjoys pulling all of the plastic plates and cups out of the cupboard. He is repeating consonant/vowel sounds such as: ma, da, and ba. He loves to smile and laugh. When I go into his room in the morning he is sitting there, happy as could be just smiling and giggling that mommy has arrived! He is starting to eat more "table" foods, he eats six jars of baby food a day, at least 4 six ounce bottle, and snacks. Yes, I realize that sounds like a lot...but Dr. O says it is great and he is doing great!
We truly are blessed with three amazing children. They are all different in there own way. I love watching them interact, play and love on each other. They are going to be so close as they grow up!
Caden Peter "Tank" Morrow is a wonderful boy and I am so glad that we have him in our lives!!
